So I was reading my yahoo group for some inspiration and ideas about my little stall (or whatever you want to call it), and I found that it is very normal for someone to stall (for up to two weeks) at a weight they were at previously for a few years...and that is definitely where I am right now. I have decided as such, to suck it up, keep on trucking, and stick to my plan of 9 more injections and then SL until I either reach immunity or my goal. I have also decided that I am going to start working out again, at least three times a week, or as desire strikes, for up to 30 minutes a day starting next week. Nothing crazy, a little spin workout, or walking three miles, or going for a swim (not sure if the chlorine affects this, but I guess Ill see)...and track how that affects my weight. If I'm going to be in a stall anyway, might as well do something with my body.
I also read this post, and it is wonderful (was not addressed to me, but to another that was discouraged from the group):
Sweetie, your body is losing weight in the best manner possible for IT. Honor its intelligence and wisdom in allowing you the weight reduction in such a way that your health is maintained and you are able to eat normally afterwards without gaining. Comparing myself to others is always a temptation for me, and it always gets me in trouble, so I recommend letting your body do its thing without any judgement from you, blessing it for releasing the extra fat in its own way and its own time, if at all possible.
I'm still losing inches, so that is really important. In the past week, I've lost 2.85inches...so that is good. The fat is definitely still moving around, or being released. I just need to get over my scale number fixation...and try those size 12s again and see how they fit (after wearing them for an hour last week, everything felt like it was closing in...definitely a little too tight once I sat down).
Here are my measurements (click to see them larger):

Those numbers look great. A whole inch on your hips! Way to go. Things are definitely moving in your body, just not reflected by the scale.
ReplyDeleteHow tall are you? I guess your height doesn't matter for comparison, we have such different body shapes anyway. My hips are currently what yours were Jan 14, but my waist is 39, compared to your 32.5 back then.
You have a healthy body shape. Mine is unhealthy. I carry it all around my middle.
Anyway, keep up the good work. I'm glad someone on that yahoo group had encouraging words, even if they weren't aimed at you. If it's the same one I was a member of, they're great.
Oh, by the way... What is a sprint triathlon? Sounds interesting. Could you point me to a post where you describe it?
ReplyDeleteHi Beaker,
ReplyDeleteLet me mention that I do my waist and my stomach separately, just to make me feel a little better. I call my waist the skinnest part of my torso between my breasts and belly button. My stomach is measured at the point of my belly button...not sure if that makes a difference in how you are measuring. Ive always had an hourglass figure, just seemed to get bigger and bigger.
A Sprint Tri length varies depending on the event. It always consists of a swim, bike and then run. Sprint distance ranges from 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile swim (between 400 and 600yds), 10 to 18 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run (the run distance seems to be the same for every event). An olympic is normally double that for all events, a 70.3 is just that, 1/2 an IRONMAN, and an IRONMAN is 2.4m swim, 112m bike, and 26.2 mile run. My goal is to do a 1/2 IRON in the next 4 yrs.
I am so excited that I'll be able to do my tris this summer at such a lower weight (22.6 down as of this morning). Its so much harder to do when your dragging that extra weight behind you!)
I measure my waist at the skinniest part below my ribcage and above my belly button. The skinniest part below my breasts I also measure, but I call that upper abs, and it's about 2 inches thinner than my waist. And I measure my stomach, or lower abs, an inch below my belly button.
ReplyDeleteYes, 3 measurements in about the same area, but this is where I carry most of my fat, and I want to see those areas shrinking!
Wow, I don't think I'd ever have the endurance to do all that. You've done fantastic on this protocol, and that will make such a difference this summer.
